Movement by the pond

The leaping frog changes the pose and setting. Use the water and leaves to frame the open body shape.

Repeat a color to make small patterns readable.

Choose one pair of matching wing sections and color those first. Continue outward with a second color instead of deciding on every space at once. For ladybirds, the spots can stay dark while the surrounding body carries the strongest color.

Snail spirals offer a different route: follow the curve with light pencil layers. In a group scene, color the creatures before the plants so you can adjust the background around them. These are stylized drawings for coloring rather than insect anatomy worksheets.
