Choose the kind of coloring you want.

An open starting point

Broad petal layers leave room for crayons or a larger pencil stroke. Repeating one color around a whole ring makes an easy first decision.

A more intricate structure

Overlapping ribbon shapes and smaller spaces make this a slower, more focused pattern. Preview the full drawing before choosing a tip size.

Choose a repeat before you choose every color.

Try one of three approaches: give each ring its own color, alternate two colors around a ring, or repeat a short sequence from the center outward. Test that sequence on one small area first. Leaving some shapes white can be part of the pattern.

The individual A4 and Letter PDFs retain vector outlines; each drawing also offers an SVG. PNG files are raster versions for image use and online coloring. Collection packs use the prepared image version. Pick the single-page vector PDF when keeping the outlines sharp at different print scales matters.

Try a small project

Print one design twice. Color the first by rings and the second by alternating spokes, using the same four pencils. Compare which shapes become most visible in each version.
