Let wings stay lighter than the surroundings.

Pale wings can stand apart from stronger clothing or leaves. Repeat a small accent in the wings and one flower to connect the character to the garden. No particular skin, hair or wing color is required.

For miniature tools and lanterns, choose a few colors and repeat them instead of assigning every object a new one. Leaving small spaces white keeps fine scenes from feeling crowded. Extra sparkle marks or gradients can be added to a printed page.
